United Nations sustains the Curacao Government Sustainable Development Agenda for 2030

The Government of Curaçao, in collaboration with the United Nations will be conducting a Mainstreaming, Acceleration and Policy Support (MAPS) Mission in Curacao from 18 - 22 June 2018, to develop a Roadmap for the effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) linked to the Government's National Development Plan (NDP) and national objectives and priorities. The primary purpose of the mission is to catalyze current development efforts, to strengthen the institutional mechanisms and to support the integration of the SDGs in the national development processes.

This support and the Roadmap will better enable the Government and its partners to coordinate implementation of national development objectives and priorities as linked to the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.

The mission will include multi-stakeholder consultations on the acceleration of priority themes such as poverty, economic growth, education and sustainability, as well as consultations on the institutional coordination around goals and targets, strengthening the data foundations and exploring financing options for the implementation of the SDGs. On Wednesday 20th of June the UN delegation had a meeting with the commission on Foreign and Inter Parliamentary Affairs to inform the commission members of their mission and the perspectives of the great task ahead for our people and our country.
